Welcome to :iconr72:'s Best of December feature infrared pictures selected by r72

admins.

January has come and gone.  A slow month as far as submissions go, but that's to be expected as most of our membership lives in the northern hemisphere where the days are shorter and the leaves are sparse.  That said, the quality of submissions this month was very high.  I could probably just hyperlink to the January submissions folder and end this blog right here if I were in a lazy mood.

Anyway, here are what we feel were the best IR photographs this month:

Our Founder, :iconmichilauke:MichiLauke was fairly busy this month and provided a lot of classic monochrome images.  Very cool to see and remember the kind of images that brought me to IR photography.

:iconvw1956:vw1956 captured some very sharp statuary photos this month.  I'm particularly fond of the editing style he used for this kind of subject. He also gives us a great portrait.

:iconjohnk222:JohnK222 makes very good use of subtle coloring in this very nice image of a garden path in Australia.

:iconholo6:Holo6 is a newcomer to the group, and she is exploding onto the scene with some very high quality IR photography.  Her images are very clean and the blue and white coloring is just perfect.

:iconrobpolder:robpolder continues to take great IR portraits while experimenting with other things as well, proving that IR doesn't have to be used for just trees.

:iconbamboomix:bamboomix integrates water and stone into his images in a very nice way and pairs that with bold coloring which makes his excellent work unique among IR photographers.

:iconmikeschwarz:mIkeschwaRz took this great image which was used for this month's post processing contest (winners here: fav.me/d9pvroj)

:iconkonczey-zsolt:Konczey-Zsolt gives us this image, which is a great example of the bleak dreamscape kind of image you can get with IR.

And finally, :iconjblaschke:jblaschke captured this excellent IR boudoir shot.
